2013 Summer Arts Programs Call for Arts Instructors, Assistants & Coordinators

Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture is seeking qualified summer staff for various arts centers throughout Fulton County for youth and teen summer arts programs.

YOUTH ARTS CAMP

May 28 – June 28*, ages 5 - 12 (*dates vary by location)

Instructors are needed in Visual Arts, Dance, Theatre and Music. Instructor applicants should have formal training in one or more artistic discipline; a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Humanities or equivalent experience; at least two years teaching experience.

Camp Assistants are needed to support instructors in the areas of Visual Arts, Dance, Theatre and Music during class as well as provide supervision of campers before, during and after camp. Assistant applicants should be at least a rising college sophomore, major in an area of the arts and/or have experience working with children.

Camp Coordinators are needed and are responsible for day-to-day camp operations, resolving minor issues and helping to maintain an environment that is conducive for learning. Camp coordinator applicants should have experience working with children, be well organized, detail oriented, problem solvers and adaptable.

After-Care Coordinators are needed from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to lead supervision of campers and schedule activities after regular programming concludes each day. After-Care Coordinator applicants should have experience working with and creating engaging activities for children, be well organized, detail oriented, problem solvers and adaptable.

TEEN ARTISTS ACADEMY

June 24 – August 2*, ages 13 – 18 (*dates vary by location)

Instructors are needed in Creative Writing, Contemporary Writing, Graphic Design, Visual Arts (2D & 3D), Dance, Musical Theatre, Theatre and Voice (Music). Instructor applicants should have formal training in one or more artistic discipline; a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Humanities or equivalent experience; at least two years teaching experience.

Teen Academy Assistants are needed to support instructors during class as well as provide supervision of participants. Assistant applicants should be at least 21 years old, majoring in an area of the arts and have experience working with youth. 

All applicants must be able to provide own transportation (not all locations are MARTA accessible) and must be available for the entire length of the program from 8am – 6pm (hours vary by location).  Applications are due no later than Friday, April 5, 2013.
