The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta -
Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund

Established in 1992, the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund provides financial grants and programs that help small and mid sized arts organizations become more financially stable and organizationally self-sustainable.

The Arts Loan Fund

The Arts Loan Fund, a program of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, is a loan source for small to mid-sized non-profit arts organizations. The program is a direct response to the immediate cash flow needs of organizations awaiting payment of confirmed grants from a foundation or government funder, or another guaranteed, scheduled source of payment. If your organization has been awarded a grant, but has not yet received funding, this program could be very beneficial.

National Endowment for the Arts

The National Endowment for the Arts was created by Congress and established in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government. Since then, the NEA has awarded more than 111,000 grants to arts organizations and artists in all 50 states and the six U.S. jurisdictions.

Georgia Council for the Arts

The Georgia Council for the Arts, a state agency, provides funding to present, preserve, promote and produce the arts in Georgia. Through its various granting programs, the Georgia Council for the Arts supports nonprofit arts organizations, educational institutions, community arts councils, municipal arts agencies, school systems, and other entities that offer arts programming.

City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs

The City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA), a division of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, was established in 1974 to encourage and support Atlanta’s cultural resources. The BCA seeks to support programs that educate and expose the public to a rich and diverse range of cultural expressions and aspires to make the arts available to everyone.

Southern Arts Federation

The Southern Arts Federation is a not-for-profit regional arts organization serving Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. With funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, the state arts agencies in the region, and corporate and foundation support, the SAF has a variety of programs that seek to assist in presentation, promotion and production of southern arts and cultural programming; and advocating for the arts and arts education.

New England Foundation for the Arts

The New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA), an independent non-profit organization, serves primarily the New England region through a variety of granting programs and initiatives. However, Georgia organizations may be interested in the National Dance Project, an initiative launched in 1996 to support the production and touring of contemporary dance works in the United States.

Foundation Center

Georgia Lawyers For The Arts

Georgia Lawyers for the Arts (GLA) is a nonprofit organization that provides legal assistance and educational programming to artists and arts organizations in Georgia. GLA, through its network of over 500 volunteer and member attorneys, provides legal assistance to musicians, songwriters, photographers, filmmakers, painters, poets, graphic designers, actors, theatre companies, dance troupes, museums and artists from many other disciplines.

VSA Arts Of Georgia

VSA arts of Georgia provides access to the arts for people with disabilities and those with low income. It is a statewide resource working with artists and organizations to fulfill its vision of an inclusive community that encourages everyone to enjoy and participate in the arts. VSA arts of Georgia is the state's leader in technical services that create accessible arts and cultural venues and inclusive arts and cultural experiences. Arts and cultural venues collaborate with VSA arts of Georgia to provide opportunities for people who have disabilities or who are economically disadvantaged to attend performances or special events through free admission. Donated tickets are made available to non-profit organizations throughout Georgia.

United Way Of Metropolitan Atlanta – V.I.P. Program

United Way V.I.P. (Volunteer Involvement Program) develops and places ethnically diverse and underrepresented populations into leadership roles in nonprofit agencies, in order to create a more open and caring community. By bringing ethnically diverse individuals into leadership positions, agencies enhance their understanding of the diverse needs of their clients - and become better able to meet those needs.

The Atlanta Women’s Foundation – Women On Board

The Women on Board™ program was designed to increase the participation and diversity of women serving on nonprofit boards in Metro Atlanta. This is done by training women in effective board governance and then connecting them with agencies actively seeking new board members. Participation in Women on Board™ is open to nonprofit organizations and government commissions. There is no cost to register with the program.
