Largely a self-taught artist, Arthur Parks, Jr. is dedicated to making art tangible for and to the people it reflects. His work has been influenced by his travel, dreams, reading, imagination, spirituality and the art of the great artists that he admires: Charles White, Kofi Bailey, Albrecht Durer, Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence, Modigliani and Picasso. His pieces are full of color and often incorporate found objects – scraps of paper, plastic container tops, old brushes, encrusted mixing sticks, etc. Mr. Parks will conduct two drawing workshops: September 16 and Page 4 of 7

September 23, both from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The workshops are free and open to all ages and skill levels. To register and for information about group tours, please call 404-613-9011.
